My work presented during last week assesment. Mostly series of photowork (ROOD as in RED and Size Matters). Also my recent 3d-work; based on chicken-wire (attached with red wires on the inside). Due to its transparancy, it’s not easy to take good photos of this work (cause you hardly can see it). Which is the story behind that work as well: about hidden beauty or beauty that’s straight in front of us, but which we don’t (or don’t want to) see for some reason. And therefor we hardly ever notice it… About beauty not only visible at the surface but in in particular the beauty within. That not only goes for us people, but also for objects and spaces as well…
Mijn werk tijdens het semesterbeoordeling afgelopen week; voornamelijk bestaande uit fotoseries (ROOD en Size Matters). Maar ook mijn recenter 3-d werken: kippegaas-sculpturen (met rode draden aan de binnenzijde). Vanwege het ‘transparante’ kenmerk van het materiaal, blijkt het werk erg lastig om op de foto te zetten (je ziet immers niet zoveel). Da’s tevens ook het verhaal achter het werk: schoonheid die ergens verborgen zit of gewoon recht voor ons neus bevindt, maar zelden aandacht aan besteden… Omdat we het niet kunnen/willen zien. Schoonheid die niet alleen a/d buitenkant zit maar vooral ook a/d binnenkant Geldt voor mensen, maar ook voor objecten/ruimte/ vormen.
